[Instructor: Mutsumi Hanzawa ]

It was in 2005 that I began practicing Ashtanga yoga and discovered my inner energy and power.
By incorporating yoga into my life, I’ve learned many things, including the importance of balancing my mind and body.
The biggest change since I discovered Ashtanga yoga is that I’ve become more in touch with myself. As I continued, my senses have changed, and I’ve begun to think more deeply about things like food, the environment, spirituality, and the cosmos.
There are so many things that cannot be seen with the eyes, but I want to live my life so that I can sense myself more clearly,
and cherish the sensations and connections I’ve gained through yoga.

2007: Studied yoga with Cameron Harris.
2007: Completed teacher training with Ken Harakuma.
2010: Completed teacher training with Chuck & Mattie.
2011: Studied yoga with Barry Silver.
2012: Completed mind and body adjustment with Kaori Makino.

Mysore Class / Led Class

Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Class

In the Mysore class, you may arrive and leave at any time during the open practice period, allowing you to move through the asanas at your own pace, guided by your breath and physical condition.
The teacher observes each student individually and offers guidance or hands-on adjustments as needed. This format is suitable for practitioners of all levels—from beginners to advanced students—and supports a sustainable practice. Through this “moving meditation,” students can expect to cultivate both physical and mental purification, as well as improved concentration.

Led Class

In the Led Class, all participants practice together, flowing through a fixed sequence of asanas in unison, following the teacher’s verbal instructions and count.
While the Mysore class emphasizes self-paced practice, the Led Class allows students to directly experience one of the core principles of Ashtanga Yoga: synchronizing breath and movement. It is especially beneficial for beginners, as the shared rhythm creates a sense of unity and makes it easier to enjoy the practice while learning and confirming the posture sequence and breathing timing.

Schedule

Mysore Class: Saturdays except the last Saturday of the month (approx. 90 minutes)

・Led Class: Last Saturday of each month (approx. 90 minutes)
